Whacked Man writes fake news.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – In an effort to fight childhood obesity some elementary schools in Minnesota have removed desks from classrooms and are now eliminating books as well. The idea behind the experiment is that by shedding desks students would be able to shed a few pounds as well. As for why the schools are also eliminating books, Dr. James Levine a researcher at the Mayo Clinic stated, “I have no idea.”

Deskless students are required to stand and move around and may sit down on the floor to rest only with permission from their teacher. Each classroom will have exactly one desk and one chair to be used by said teacher.

None of the “classrooms of the future” will have books.

This has many teachers jumping for joy. “This is a wonderful idea. I hated books and none of my students could read them anyway,” said Pamela Woods a fourth grade teacher.

A few teachers were less than enthusiastic about the experimental classrooms. “They (the Minnesota board of education) are a bunch of cheap asses,” growled Melissa Brewer a first grade teacher. “First they get rid of desks, now books, what’s next? Are they going to get rid of us teachers too?”

Another female teacher who chose to remain anonymous seconded that sentiment, “Next they’ll be taking the teachers’ desks away too. Without desks, where would we have sex with our students?”

In regards to these and many more concerns, Dr. Levine was unable to be reached for comment.
